ART CLASSES IN KINDERGARTEN - An Overview
The main goal for our Kindergarten Artists is to explore and experience the many different art medium available for enhancing their creative self-expression. At the same time, some basic fine motor skills such as cutting, gluing, and brush manipulation are introduced. Art has been used throughout time to tell stories in images--real or imagined. There are few who can rival the unmasked innocence in the visual story telling of these young children.

AUTUMN TREES - Tempera Paint and Mixed Media
Inspired by the many colors of Autumn and their study of the Seasons, students created their trees by first tracing their hand (branches) down to their elbow (trunk). Encouraging each young artist's creative expression, more branches were added while painting the trees. Colorful leaves were stamped on with sponge sticks; the young artists considered the effects of wind and movement as they playfully stamped their autumn leaves. Finally, cutting and gluing skills were practiced with the addition of a construction paper sun; oil pastels were used to enhance the sun and show the art element of Texture on the tree trunk.
